Ronbus Paddle Review: A Game-Changer in My Pickleball Journey
Over the past two years, IÃve had the privilege of using several top-tier paddles, but the Ronbus lineup has truly transformed my game. From the R3 Pulsar, R3 Nova, Pulsar FX.R3, and now the highly anticipated Ripple V2 R1.14, each paddle has elevated my understanding of shots and strategy to the next level. As an instructor, IÃve wholeheartedly endorsed Ronbus paddles to my local community, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. In the past month alone, over twelve paddles have been soldónot just because of their exceptional quality, but also their affordability. The Ripple V2 R1.14 is nothing short of a game-changer, and I canÃt wait to see how it continues to refine my play.Lisa & Dongókeep doing what youÃre doing.

Ripple V2 R1.14
I have mained the Ripple Beta and Pre-production (non PbCOR cert) for awhile now. I have only played with it for 8 hours for 2 days. This will be an initial review. I will update after 2 weeks of playtime. Initial Static Weight was at 8.1 oz, I added a 3M PPF clear tape just on top of the edge guard, one Mega Tac Tourna Overgrip and 3 gram lead tape each on 4 & 8. After all of that, Static Weight is 8.6 oz. My beta and pre-production Ripples were around the same, under 9.0. The V2 was noticeably poppier, less plush, less dwell and less power than the Beta. Swing weight felt maybe just a tad slower, but still felt insignificant. On the 2nd day, it seems that the V2 started to break in and feels a little bit more plush and the sweet spot has increased. Resets and drives felt almost similar to the Beta and Pre-production and manageable. Maybe, because I have been playing with the Ripple since the Beta release that I have adjusted to it. The Power has been reduced on the V2, which makes it more controllable. IÃll update this review after 2 weeks.

Great Paddle
I've played multiple days and a small tournament with the V2 R1. I have been blasting serves and the spin from the paddle is top tier. I garnered several aces over the tournament and my friends said the ball was skipping off the ground, almost like it exploded. The shape of the serve was great too. Drinking was a little more touchy and I felt like it was stiffer and I was popping a lot of ball up. I remember my R1 beta did this at first and I also feel there is a break in time. Last game I had it down, but definitely had to hold back on adding any additional swing. The paddle's pop was mostly doing the work and returning the balls. Counters were very fun with the poppiness of the paddle. I didn't feel I needed to add much punch back and the ball was returned with great speed. I enjoyed the paddle very much. A little different than the R1 beta but I think I can hone it in over time and more playing may benifit the paddle. The swing weight was not an issue. It felt maneuverable and quick when I needed to recover from opponents drives. Overall great paddle that has helped me add some additional power and spin to my game

Best Elongated on the Market!
This paddle is great however the heavier swing weight may make it unattractive to the majority of players without elite hands at the kitchen. Putting some weight at the throat and handle of the paddle helps. This is still the best option for advanced players who don't mind the swing weight.

Boom!
This paddle is amazing. Added 1 gram to 9 and 3 o’clock spots and now this paddle is solid to the bone. Flicks , drives and especially drop drives. Love this soo much I ordered the r2 and r4 also

CEO
Have tried many different paddle manufacturers over the last 3 years. The velocity of change and improved performance is not decreasing. 2-3 years ago Ronbus would probably have been considered a "challenger" brand to the Selkirks, Joolas, Gearboxes etc. Today, I would say Ronbus are one the very finest paddles available. Until recently, paddles were often separated into either power or touch categories. It was an easy shorthand and you simply accepted the trade offs of one versus the other. The latest Ronbus Ripple has remarkably achieved both elements almost based upon context (what is required touch or power at any given moment). Remarkable! (Also kudos to the founders who still have a caring, professional hands-on approach to all their customers. )

Awesome Paddle
After 10 hours of play and 4.5 gm from 3:30-5:00 and 7:00-8:30, my 8.5 oz V2 R1.14 has become my favorite Ronbus paddle. It has a solid, cushioned feel for controllable dinks, drops and resets, but controllable power on serves and drives. With great spin and pop, speedups and low dipping drives often surprise opponents. I prefer solid, heftier paddles for my short, compqct swing and do not feel it is excessively heavy. Thanks to Ronbus for creating this awesome paddle.

Powerful Beast
Op power!!! Most powerful legal paddle I played so far. Great at drive and hand battle. However, is a bit more difficult to drop and dink.

Be patient
I've been using Ronbus paddles as my mains since the R1.16 (shout out to Pickleball Studio's original R1 review and discount code). I had been using the Ripple R1 beta (Sept'24) 3-5x/week and have been following the certification roller coaster, hoping for a paddle with similar play characteristics. My initial impression was not positive - I actually put my paddle back in the bag. It sounded terrible and felt like a plank of wood. However, I kept pulling it out in less-competitive rec sessions and noticed that the sound and playability started to improve. It's been a few weeks now of regular play and I can say that the paddle has settled into something I'm really enjoying. The power is definitely lower and different than the beta. Drives are actually more consistent now. Spin might be a little less, but I'm still getting lots of errors on dipping drives. Resets and mid-court play are solid (not quite as effortless as the R2fx) and dinking has been more consistent. The one place this paddle excels over the beta is counters. I'm not seeing as many spray long and seeing a lot more solid punches with intention. Put away power with sitters is definitely lower than the beta (similar to the fx series) so balls are coming back. Yes, it definitely weighs more than the beta (which I had setup with 4" of lead tape from 4-9). I only have 1" of lead at 5 and 8. I haven't noticed much in degredation in hand speeds (now idea why - I have stock R1fx and R3fx and can't use them for doubles play and they have similar swing weights). I'm going to give it 4 stars as I think there's room for improvement on the weight side to allow more lead and opening the sweet spot. It's going to be my main paddle through the summer while I look forward to the next generation of Ripples. If you want an elongated Ripple and are OK with the extra weight, I recommend being patient to let it break in.
