Boomstik alternative
The low starting static weight allows quite a bit of weight to be added precisely where you want it. I mimicked the Boomstik MOI set up with 7.5g at the 3-9 position. I added another 5.5" of 1/2 gram tungsten tape below on each side, for a total of 20.5g. The paddle now has major pop and power, but is still controllable on resets and dinks. I would high recommend this paddle as a very affordable option to directly compete with the most powerful foam core paddles currently on the market.

The best of the Pack
The R3 play surprisingly well out of the box. When adding about six grams per side and this paddle is a freak. Excellent power and pop with great control. The whip and feel of this paddle is ridiculous. Dwell and spin is top tier. Plays similar to the Boomstik but only a third of the price. Why look elsewhere??

Quanta R3
Fantastic paddle! Love it. I add weight to all my paddles so not a big deal to add weight to this paddle. It was originally only 7.68 oz (217.8 grams) when I received it. I added 12” of 2 grams/inch lead tape to the head of the paddle. Played one time with it that way but felt too head heavy. I can’t measure swing weight so I moved it to 6” on each side. Felt much better but I still wanted more weight up on top. So I used up the last 2.75” of 1 gram/inch lead tape I had at the very middle of the top. Then I added a 2” piece of 2 gram/inch lead tape on each side of the lighter lead tape at the top center. Total of 31 grams of lead tape added. With white electrical tape over all the lead tape my final paddle weight is 8.87 oz (251.5 grams). Excellent spin and power and feel. LOVE IT! Great Paddle!

Wow!
I bought the R3 only because the Quanta was so affordable I figured I'd give the elongated shape another try even though I've been maining standard shape paddles since way back when the Nova R2 debuted. I didn't expect to like it, but somehow it totally won me over. I like my R2 Quanta a lot too, but the R3 is feeling even better. It just feels so stable, which is not at all how I expected to describe any elongated paddle. I love that it's swingweight starts so light-- mine came in at 111 stock, and I weighted it up to 117 with 20g in the bottom corners (bringing the twist weigth from 5.7 to 7.5 and the static weight to my usual 8.5oz all-in). 117 is slightly heavier than the 115-116 range I aim for on my standard paddles, but it doesn't feel any slower, just more stable than my R2 (also weighted to 8.5oz, sw 115.4 tw 8.2). I'm curious to see how long the grit will last on these, but surely it will last longer than the Pro IVs I'm coming from (I had to warranty my pair of Pro IVs 4 times because they just wear out and core crush so quickly). I have little doubt the R3 is going to be much more long-lived, which is a great bonus considering it's also just a better performing paddle for me. Love it! I've used Ronbus paddles for a long time, since first graduating from my Amazon paddle. I loved the original Ripples, but got burned a bit when they never made it out of beta and I struggled to find a replacement. I ended up finally going over to Joola and mained the Pro IV Scorpeus 16mm for ~7 months but I'm very glad to be coming back to Ronbus and playing the Quanta now. The Quanta was an easy transition back, and at under a $100 it was easily worth the price. My Joola has been replaced 4 times, core crushing after about 70-80hr of play each time and their warranty process was sooo bad and slow. I've hit the Quanta about 40hr so far and it's holding up great and based on its construction I'm not expecting it'll wear out anywhere near as quickly as the Joolas. Great paddle!

Paddle goes Brrrr
With weight this paddle absolutely performs for the price! After the ripple series I couldn’t wait to have the R3 again and this did not disappoint.

Awesome paddle but needs weight
Great paddle if you want to customize it to your liking. Feels quick on hands, with weight, it has nice pop and power.

Great, R3
Bought this to have a paddle could weight to suit me without getting too heavy. Was able to customize the fit/feel I wanted and still be lighter (=faster) than high end gen 3’s and 4’s have used. With the low starting weight can be customized to play/feel close to any, of the so called, top end paddles on the market and maybe create a better personalized fit than can get with any other gen 4. Thanks RONBUS for introducing a great product at a great price to the pickleball market.

Does everything well
Coming from crbn 1x, trufoam genesis, sypik, and paddletek, this one feels like it has all the good aspects of my precious paddles combined. I’ve always wished for more control, power, or bigger sweet spot from my precious paddles and this r3 seemed to do everything I ask for it to do. With the right weight setup, this could be anything I wish for it to play like. Using .5g per inch tape along both sides curve to curve + .5g at 3 and 9.

Perfectly customizable with power
This paddle is fully customizable. It comes light and has a small grip. I added weights for more power and a overgrip. This paddle fits exactly to my preference and has deadly spin! So fun!
